So this week was an interesting one not just for me personally but in the markets for sure. Unfortunately I was in London on Monday so missed the 500 point DAX decline...bugger...but none the less I had a very positive week.
For starters, I didn't have one single losing trade (this is not the reality of trading and is neither a sustainable achievement nor a genuine goal to have). I sat through the discomfort of having a trade move against me from having been in profit and resisting the temptation to take said profit (well sometimes) on a number of occasions. I realised and acknowledged that I need to trust my strategy and focus my work on the mental aspect of trading, in particular, the part I seem to go about quite often - staying in a trade.
If you have a strategy that works the only reason you're not making money or more money than you are is because like the 90%, the fear of giving back unrealised profit is just too painful, and you close a winner way too soon, and certainly you never add to it.
Well what you need to do is easy. Reach down, find your testicles, grab them, give them a little squeeze and man up because good trading should be uncomfortable!
