10 Points. It' not much but when you consider that if you make 10 points every week, week in and week out, eventually, if you live long enough, you'll be wealthy! LOL
It's not so much the amount but what it represents. It represents patience. In fact, for the first time I can recall since I've been trading, I had a day (morning) in which I didn't take a single trade. This is because I acknowledged that there were no real signals, but not only that, but I realised that my strategy was not suited to the market and so whilst I watched, I simply ended up sitting it out. This is huge. Sure, I still have moments where I am not this patient, for example on the Friday I was a little impatient once I had entered a trade which resulted in a weak, fearful close, but it's progress. And that is what I'm looking for.
**As I write this it is actually the following week as I forgot to upload this, and I can confirm that my patience carried over into the beginning of the week, although on Tuesday I felt I traded poorly, chasing losses.**
But whereas in previous weeks when I was only up a handful of points, I decided to risk them and take additional trades (only to lose) I took my points and was grateful. This is an improvement in my trading maturity. As I said at the beginning, imagine if I only made 10 points a week, but imagine if each one of those points was £200. Would I still think 'Sod it, it's only 10 points, I'm willing to risk them.'? Of course not. I'd be very happy to have made in a week, what I used to make in a month! It's all about perspective.
