First profitable week for a while...

The title says it all. I again had a bit of a bitch fit on Wednesday and as such took a couple of trades which I shouldn't have taken and they cost me. But, I didn't lose it all together, in fact I was rather calm and composed about it. I accepted they were bad trades and the reasoning behind taking them, and this made a big difference to the rest of the week.

It's almost as if I got fed up with having these emotional outbursts in my trading and so this time, it didn't have the effect on me it had had on other occasions. The following day I was completely unfazed by it, and when I sat down to trade I was ready to actually trade well and whatever happens, happens.

Had I not taken those trades on Wednesday I would've finished the week up only 29 points, but when you think about it, if a trader makes 29 points every week, sure it's not the riches you see 'on line' but if you do it with consistency, you will eventually become a profitable trader. As your account grows, and your so your per point amount grows, one day you will be trading high enough that you are making a living from it, and not just an average one.

That's all you need to do when you trade. It's not about making hundreds and hundreds of points every session, or taking big risks with 50% of your account, it's about consistently turning a profit, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem right now.

Your goal when you trade is to make points, but remember, you don't need to make ALL the points...
